DE ROSA Professional SLX Team Sammontana, Campagnolo Super Record, 58cm (1984/85)

Ugo De Rosa, one of the most successful frame builders was born on January 27, 1934 in Milan, Italy. His passion led him to study mechanics and engineering at a technical college. Later in the early 1950s he opened his first shop and commenced the manufacture of racing bicycles. He supplied many champions with his high-end bicycles (Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser…), and also strongly influenced the cycling industry with his amazing bikes from Cusano Milanino.

Sammontana is Italian icecream company founded in 1948, sponsoring Italian cycling teams since 1973. In 1982, the Sammontana team was led by Moreno Argentin and DeRosa was their bike suplier.

The frame is work of art, made of Columbus SLX, featuring the perfection and attention to details to providing the best performance you might expect from mid 80s racing machine. Amazing Sammontana paintjob, famous ”Diamante chainstay”  with De Rosa engraved seatstays. Completely built with Campagnolo Super Record groupset (Pat.83), pantograph DE ROSA 3ttt stem and handlebar, original San Marco Profil saddle and Campagnolo Super Record Pedals. No much words needed.
