PINARELLO Prologo 26″/28″ Team Reynolds, Campagnolo C Record, 59cm (1989) – SOLD

Giovanni Pinarello was born in Catena di Villorba, Italy in 1922. He was the eighth of 12 brothers. At the age of fifteen, Giovanni began making bicycles at the factory of Paglianti. After a successful amateur career he turned professional in 1947. After his carrer, in 1952 he founded Cicli Pinarello S.p.A. in Treviso, Italy.

The ”Prologo” was a landmark time trial model for Pinarello in mid 1980s. It achieved many important victories. The superb frameset is made of quality Columbus tubing with Pinarello’s special designed bottom bracket. The tubes are shaped to form a smaller front triangle and brings the top tube down to the small frontwheel. The frame is extremely rigid and the rider in its aerodynamic position has considerably lower drag. Easy to detect beautiful engravings on the top of the slopped fork crown and seat stay, Pinarello logo appeared in many locations  like lugs and bottom bracket and rear brake bridge.

Proudly presenting another Italian steel time trial racing machine – Pinarello Prologo 26″/28″. It dates back to 1989, shining in Team Reynolds colours, featuring internal shifting and braking cables. It’s very similar to Pedro Delgado’s time trial bike from the Tour de France 1989. Built with Campagnolo C-Record groupset, iconic Delta brakes, stunning Ambrosio Logos full disc wheels, 3ttt Pinarello stem and 51.151 handlebar. Love at first sight.
