CASATI Ellisse MAX, Campagnolo Record Delta (early 1990s) – SOLD

Description

The CASATI was founded by Pietro Casati in Monza near Milano back in 1920 and is affirmed in Italian cycling history as a guarantee for traditional craft. The 1970s and 1980s represents the golden age of Italian cycling and Casati embodied, among other brands, the values of historic framebuilders worldwide. Pietro’s son Gianni Casati took over  and earned its reputation in top level framebuilding by hand-built meticulous and craftsman’s attention to details.

The name ”ELLISSE” came from specially designed down and seat tube, which are rounded on one side and turns eliptical at the bottom bracket shell to improve stiffness. Amazing pearl white paint job has been done by Carlo Dossena, an Italian master painter, well known for his artistic work, also responsible for paint jobs of other artisian bike brands.

Proudly present another beautiful Italian steel machine, the CASATI Ellisse. The frame dates back to early 1990s, made of  lightweight and strong Columbus MAX tubing, featuring extraordinary details like special Casati’s split seat stay caps and rear brake bridge, silver badge with Casati Gianni signature, ‘C’ engravings on the top of bottom bracket shell. Only the best parts are good enough for such a beauty and by no surprise also this Casati is build with Campagnolo Record 8speed groupset, 3ttt cockpit, Cinelli Volare SLX saddle,  Ambrosio rims. This ”Ellisse” is basically the same as Casati Settantenario, which was released in 1990 as a celebration of Casati’s 70th year of existence.

Great catch for any vintage bike collector. Fair price.
