BIANCHI XL EV2 Reparto Corse – authentic bike of M.PODENZANA Mercatone Uno Team (2000) – SOLD

Bianchi’s Reparto Corse (Bianchi’s Race Department) facility hand built frames for their top riders and of course Marco Pantani was one of them riding for Mercatone Uno sponsored by Bianchi. Their top model  XL EV2 Reparto Corse is made of lightweight triple-butted alloy shaped  tubeset. Aluminum was the material of choice back then, even his biggets rival Lance Armstrong rode full carbon Trek 5500. The XL EV2 was used by Marco Pantani and his teammates: Podenzana, Astarloa, Garzelli, Veloflex, Zaina…

Massimo Podenzana (born 29 July 1961 in La Spezia) is an Italian former road racing cyclist. Podenzana won a stage at the Giro in 1988,  Italian National Championship in 1994 and a stage at the Tour de France 1996. He also won other cycling classics like GP Prato, Giro di Toscana, Trofeo Melinda…). He was one of the most appreciated guys of Marco Pantani, helping him to win the Giro and Tour 1998.

Happy to present a legendary authentic racing machine used by Marco Pantani’s teammate – BIANCHI XL EV2 Reparto Corse of Massimo Podenzana (Mercatone Uno Team) which dates back to 2000. It shines in original paint, build with Campagnolo Record 10s groupset, Campagnolo Nucleon wheels, Bianchi titanium seat post. Comes with original Mercatone Uno jersey of Podenzna who also signed the bike. No much words needed.
