BIANCHI Crono Reparto Corse – Roberto CONTI Team Mercatone Uno 1999 – SOLD

Roberto Conti (born 16 December 1964) is an Italian former road cyclist, whose biggest win came in the 1994 Tour de France as he won the Alpe D’Huez stage after an impressive break-away.

Konyshev won nine Grand Tour stages and become one of the few riders to win a stage in all three Grand Tours. He won 4 stages in the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia, and he also won a single stage in the Vuelta a Espana. He followed his silver medal at the 1989 World Championship with a Bronze medal in 1992 at Benidorm and later in his career during the 2000 Giro d’Italia he won the Points Classification, as well as the overall Combativity Award.

Bianchi’s Reparto Corse (Bianchi’s Race Department) facility hand built frames for their Mercatone Uno Team with riders like Marco Pantani, Roberto Conti, Marco Velo, Dmitri Konyshev, Massimo Podenzana… Aluminum was thematerial of choice back then, even some of his biggets rivals rode full carbon bikes. Their top road model Mega Pro was made of exclusive set of Plain Gauge Aluminium 7005 heat treated shaped tubes.
