PINARELLO Giro Columbus EL, Shimano Dura Ace 7402 8s, 56.5cm (1993/94)

Giovanni Pinarello was born in Catena di Villorba, Italy in 1922. He was the eighth of 12 brothers. At the age of fifteen, Giovanni began making bicycles at the factory of Paglianti. After a successful amateur career he turned professional in 1947. After his carrer, in 1952 he founded Cicli Pinarello S.p.A. in Treviso, Italy.

Pinarello Giro was released in early 1990s and was the top model racing alongside Gavia, which was climber model. Pinarello departed from his standard production design with parallel seat and head tube angles, because Greg LeMond, the winner of the Tour de France in 1986, 1989 and 1990, promoted designs that pushed the saddle further back. The Giro model got the name after Franco Chioccioli won Giro d’Italia 1991 on a Pinarello bike. Giro was constructed of Columbus EL (Extra Legeri) and was top choice for most of the pro-peloton back then.

Happy to present this beautiful PINARELLO Giro, which dates back to 1993/94. It’s made of Columbus EL tubing, shinning in original paintjob. Fully equipped with a top-class Shimano Dura Ace 8s groupset, 3ttt stem and handlebar, Ambrosio clincher wheels, San Marco saddle.

Great catch for all tall Pinarello lovers. Ready for serious riding.
