PINARELLO Gavia FRX, Shimano Dura Ace 7402 8s, 64cm (1993/94)

Giovanni Pinarello was born in Catena di Villorba, Italy in 1922. He was the eighth of 12 brothers. At the age of fifteen, Giovanni began making bicycles at the factory of Paglianti. After a successful amateur career he turned professional in 1947. After his carrer, in 1952 he founded Cicli Pinarello S.p.A. in Treviso, Italy.

Pinarello Gavia was released in early 1990s as successor of the Montello SLX, and was the top model, named by magnificient climb Gavia in Dolomites. Creating Gavia, Pinarello departed from his standard production design with parallel seat and head tube angles, because Greg LeMond, the winner of the Tour de France in 1986, 1989 and 1990, promoted designs that pushed the saddle further back and Gavia provided further saddle back than any other Pinarello model. The Gavia was constructed of Columbus TSX tubing (lighter than SLX) and suitable long-distance races. This model was available in red, blue with pearl white panels and pearl white with fluorescent splatter.

Happy to present this beautiful Pinarello Gavia, which dates back to 1993/94. It’s made of Columbus FRX tubing, shinning in original Ferrari red paintjob. Fully equipped with a top-class Shimano Dura ace  8s groupset, 3ttt Pinarello stem, Mavic clincher wheels, Turbo saddle.

Great catch for all tall Pinarello lovers. Ready for serious riding.
