OLMO Competition Leader Aero Team MAGNIFLEX OLMO, Campagnolo Super Record, 53.5cm (1981) – SOLD

Giuseppe Olmo (22 November 1911 – 5 March 1992) was an Italian road bicycle racer. He competed at the 1932 Olympics and won a gold medal in the team road race, placing fourth individually. In October 1935 he set a new world record for an hour’s run at 45.090 kmAs with many Italian bicycle racers, after his retirement in the late 1930s he began building bicycles, and founded Olmo (also known as Olmo Biciclette). The Olmo Biciclette manufacturing center was set up in his home town of Celle Ligure Italy in 1938.They produced some very high quality bicycles often comparative quality to the great Colnago.

Giuseppe Olmo during his career…

Magniflex was an Italian professional cycling team that existed from 1973 to 1981, and in 1986 and 1987. Its main sponsor was Italian mattress manufacturer Magniflex. Team was rated in top 20 best professional cycling teams in the world in 1981. The team was led by the most successful rider Pierino Gavazzi (winner of the 1980 Milano – San Remo), Giovanni Renosto (winner of 1981 Milano-Torino, stage of the Giro d’Italia 1981), Marino Amadori (winner of Tirreno Adriatico 1981). The team was supplied by OLMO and the entire team were using OLMO Competition Leader Aero bikes, same as we are presenting here.
