Company F.lli Masciaghi (Masciaghi Brothers) was the owner of the brand Fausto Coppi in early 1990s and they put in charge Giovanni Pelizzoli for the design and manufacturing of their top racing frames for Team Polti. The pro team included Gianni Bugno, winner of ”Flanders” Tour, Mauro Giannetti, Mirko Celestino, Richard Virenque, Davide Rebellin and Ivan Gotti, winner of Giro d’Italia.
Company C4 was founded in Ferbuary 1986 by Marco Bonfanti. At first they started to produce carbon forks for road bikes, but very soon the company was recognized by their techicall excellence and remarkable quality. 1 year later, Bianchi Team rode time trial at Giro di Italia 1987 with their very revoluitonary C4 – a TT bike without the seat tube.
Proudly presenting this legendary bike, born in cooperation of 2 famous Italian frame builders, F.lli Masciaghi and C4 back in early 1990s. They had a mission the produce stiff, light and aerodynamic frame for Team Polti who was one of the strongest teams back then. In early 1990s, after many months of engineering and cooperating, their revolutionary project became a reality – C4 Airone. It was a very special bike because of it elegant tubing silhuete and aerodynamic looks, built with Shimano Dura Ace 7400 groupset.
