DEROSA Professional Sammontana 1982 – SOLD

Ugo De Rosa, one of the most successful frame builders was born on January 27, 1934 in Milan, Italy. His passion led him to study mechanics and engineering at a technical college. Later in the early 1950s he opened his first shop and commenced the manufacture of racing bicycles. He supplied many champions with his high-end bicycles (Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser…), and also strongly influenced the cycling industry with his amazing bikes from Cusano Milanino.

Sammontana is Italian icecream company founded in 1948, sponsoring Italian cycling teams since 1973. In 1982, the Sammontana team was led by Moreno Argentin and DeRosa was their bike suplier.

Here we are proudly presenting one of  Sammontana’s 1982 team bikes, made by Ugo De Rosa, in amazing and original condition. The frame is work of art, made of Columbus SL, featuring the perfection and attention to details to providing the best performance you might expect from early 80s racing machine. Build with complete  Campagnolo Super Record groupset (PAT.81), very rare 28 spokes Ambrosio wheelset, original saddle, DeRosa leather straps and Vittoria tubulars.
