Ernesto Colnago was born on February 9, 1932 in Cambiago, near Milan, Italy. At age 13 he entered in world of two wheels and immediately he fall in love with bikes and cycling. In 1952 he founded Colnago and started to work as mechanic for several professional teams. Colnago’s bikes still have a domination of the world’s cycling sports because Ernesto was always an innovator and pioneer of new technologies which supposedly provide more efficency or comfort.

The association with Ferrari is long-standing, going back more than 30 years. Colnago built the first-ever carbon-fiber lugged bicycle with Ferrari back in the mid-1980s and they have had a working relationship with them ever since. The collaboration began because founder Ernesto Colnago wanted to build composite bicycles.

Ferrari was a natural fit—not just because of the shared Italian heritage, but because the auto brand concentrated on high-end, high-performance products. Ferrari had been building composite chassis since 1982, for its Formula 1 racing team. In 1986, Colnago partnered with Ferrari Engineering to develop the first Colnago carbon bicycle. Though never produced, it laid the groundwork for Colnago’s future carbon products.

Here we are offering modern racing machine – COLNAGO V1-r Ferrari, which dates back to 2015. Full carbon frameset is equipped with Campagnolo Super Record 11s groupset, Campagnolo Bora clincher wheels, Dedda stem and handlebar. No much words needed.
