COLNAGO Tecnos, Campagnolo Chorus 8s, 57cm, mint (1996) – SOLD

Ernesto Colnago was born on February 9, 1932 in Cambiago, near Milan, Italy. At age 13 he entered in world of two wheels and immediately he fall in love with bikes and cycling. In 1952 he founded Colnago and started to work as mechanic for several professional teams. Colnago’s bikes still have a domination of the world’s cycling sports because Ernesto was always an innovator and pioneer of new technologies which supposedly provide more efficency or comfort.

The Colnago Tecnos bicycle frame first appeared in their 1996 catalogue and was still in production until the early 2000’s. This frame featured a new tube profile design and was manufactured from Nivacrom steel based on Colnago’s exclusive specification with five-leaf-clover shaping. Chromed three point crown-tip lugs on head tube and Precisa steel fork.

The Colnago Tecnos is easily identified by the tubing used in the top tube and down tube. The catalogue specifies the measures of

  • Down tube: biconical square tubing starting with 28.6mm diameter at the head tube increasing to 35mm diameter in the center, ending with 32mm diameter at the bottom bracket shell.
  • Top tube: biconical diameter of 25.4mm at either end, 28.6mm diameter in the centre.

Here we are presenting another superb steel masterpiece made by great Ernesto – COLNAGO Tecnos 1996. The frame is made of shining in beautiful paintjob, build Campagnolo Chorus 8s groupset. All original, like new. Ridden once or twice. No much words needed.

Nice catch for all Colnago enthusiasts.
