Bianchi is the world’s oldest bicycle-making company still in existence, founded in 1885 by Eduardo Bianchi in Milan, Italy. No doubt, Bianchi is the pioneer of bicycle development since the beginning. They invented equal-sized wheels with pneumatic rubber tires in 1895, first bicycle ever featuring a cardan joint transmission in 1901 and front brake system in 1913.
Throughout Bianchi’s 130-year history, the Specialissima name has represented the pinnacle of the Italian legend’s road machine line-up. The ”Specialissima” was introduced in late 1950s as successor of famous ”Campione del mondo” model and remains Bianchi’s top model till today.
Proudly presenting another Bianchi‘s iconic racing machine, the Specialissima SL which dates back to 1985. Beautiful frameset is shinning in non typical pearl white paint job, made of Columbus SL tubing featuring extraordinary details like aero-shaped seat stays, ‘B’ cut-outs on the head lug, ‘B’ pantograph fork crown among the others. Built with superb Campagnolo C-Record 1st gen groupset, iconic Cobalto brakes, 3ttt Bianchi cockpit, Mavic GP4 rims, San Marco Concor saddle. No much words needed.
Nice catch for any vintage bike collector. L’Eroica ready.
