Bianchi is the world’s oldest bicycle-making company still in existence, founded in 1885 by Eduardo Bianchi in Milan, Italy. No doubt, Bianchi is the pioneer of bicycle development since the beginning. They invented equal-sized wheels with pneumatic rubber tires in 1895, first bicycle ever featuring a cardan joint transmission in 1901 and front brake system in 1913.
Bianchi’s Reparto Corse (Bianchi’s Race Department) facility hand built frames for their top riders and their sponsored teams back in 1980s and 1990s. In years 1992-93 they sponsored Italian GB-MG Team, with some very strong riders such as Fabio Baldato, Andrej Tchmil, Ballerini, Franco Chioccioli, Dag-Erik Pedersen, the young sprinter Mario Cipollini and neo-prof Davide Rebellin. In 1992 M.Cipollini won Gent-Wevelgem and 4 stages at the Giro d’Italia and Gent-Wevelgem. They were winning races around the globe on BIANCHI EL and BIANCHI MINIMAX Reparto Corse bikes, same as we are presenting here…
Proudly presenting another Bianchi’s steel racing machine – Bianchi Minimax made by Bianchi’s Reparto Corse and dates back to 1993-94. The frame is made of very special Columbus MiniMax tubes, with TIG welded headset tube. They feature similar characteristics as Columbus ‘Max‘ (elliptical cross sections and a 0,4 mm wall thickness), but with reduced diameters of the tubes. It’s shinning in original celeste paint job. Build with Shimano Dura Ace 7410 groupset, Mavic Cosmic 1st gen wheels, Selle Italia Flite titanium saddle, 3ttt stem, Time pedals. Ready for serious riding.
Nice catch for any vintage bike lover. Fair price.
