Description

Scapin Cicli (Padova , Italy) was originally founded in 1957 by Umberto Scapin, a solid professional cyclist himself. The company immediately set itself an ambitious goal: to manufacture products featuring technical excellence and remarkable quality, where rider’s efficency and comfort are always the priority. The challenge was met at the time by Umberto’s sons, and Stefano in particular earned the merit of bringing the trademark to fame outside Italy. Since that moment, design and technology have been an essential blend in Scapin products. In 1990s,the Scapin’s bike won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro, the most important Italian award in design. Scapin is regarded as one of the most prestigious and flamboyant brand in the Italian bike industry. Both in production and design, Scapin bikes are the choice of only the most obsessive connoisseurs.

The Scapin KS-25 is a unique blend of design, craftmanship and Italian passion to be forerunner of high-end frame consctruction. In mid 1980s, Umberto Scapin decided he will design a new frame with outstanding design, increased efficencyand at the same time maintain lightweight. To accomplish this he used thinner walled steel tubes and his own internally lugged method in which the frame tubes are cut square to exact size, slippered over the lugs and silver-soldered into position. The seat tube diameter is 25mm and that’s where the name comes from. The frames were hand-biult from start to finish.
