PINARELLO Special GPT made by G.Milani, Campagnolo Nuovo Record, 57cm (1977-78) – SOLD

Giovanni Pinarello was born in Catena di Villorba, Italy in 1922. He was the eighth of 12 brothers. At the age of fifteen, Giovanni began making bicycles at the factory of Paglianti. After a successful amateur career he turned professional in 1947. After his carrer, in 1952 he founded Cicli Pinarello S.p.A. in Treviso, Italy.

The Pinarello Special is one of the best racing machine which left Giovanni Pinarello’s factory in Treviso, Italy. The  ”Special” was their top model in mid/late 1970s and basically the frame with which Pinarello started to dominate on cycling races around the globe.

Happy to present this iconic Italian racing machine – Pinarello Special, which dates back to 1977/78. Superb frameset was made by famous Gino Milani, one the best frame builders of his era. He used quality Columbus SL tubes, Campagnolo drop-outs and Pinarello lugs with easily recognisable Pinarello logo and ”GPT” (Giovanni Pinarello Treviso) engravings. Fully built with Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset, Pinarello GPT engraved 3ttt stem and handlebar, CX saddle, Mavic rims. No much words needed.
