PINARELLO Prestige S, Campagnolo 50th Ann, 55cm (1985) – SOLD

Giovanni Pinarello was born in Catena di Villorba, Italy in 1922. He was the eighth of 12 brothers. At the age of fifteen, Giovanni began making bicycles at the factory of Paglianti. After a successful amateur career he turned professional in 1947. After his carrer, in 1952 he founded Cicli Pinarello S.p.A. in Treviso, Italy.

The Pinarello Prestige S was developed at the same time as Montello SLX which was a landmark model for Pinarello and was the frame with which Pinarello achieved their first major pro victories such as the 1984 Olympics Road Race, Vuelta a España, the Giro d’Italia and stages of the Tour de France. But the Prestige S has full internal cables and is made of super-light Columbus KL tubing.

Happy to present another very exclusive steel beauty from mid 1980s – Pinarello Prestige S. Superb frameset is made of super light and exclusive Columbus KL butted tubing with Pinarello’s special designed bottom bracket and shines in beautiful metallic red paint. It’s easy to detect stunning Pinarello details appeared in many locations like fork crown, lugs, bottom bracket, seat clamp, front derailleur braze-on, rear brake bridge. The cherry on the top of the cake is  Campagnolo 50th Anniversary groupset (no.8580) and other superb parts: 3ttt Pinarello cockpit, San Marco Concor Profil saddle, Campagnolo Record Strada rims.
