Moser Leader Ax Evolution TT – SOLD

Description

Francesco Moser, born 19 June 1951 in Palù di Giovo, Trentino, nicknamed “Lo sceriffo” (The sheriff), is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer. He was dominant from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s and won the 1984 Giro d’Italia, the 1977 world road racing championship and six times in three of the five classics. He turned professional in 1973, showing a stylish pedaling style. But his powerful build meant he wasn’t a gifted climber. His 273 road victories puts him behind Eddy Merckx (525) and Rik Van Looy (379), but ahead of Rik Van Steenbergen (270) and Roger De Vlaeminck (255). He was also an accomplished track rider, riding up to six Six-Day races almost each winter throughout his career.

We are extremelly proud to present time trial rocket from early/mid 1990s, Moser Leader AX Evolution. The highlight is undoubtedly the tubing and the paintwork of this very quality frameset. Typical aggressive geometry of golden era: sloped tubes, 650C front wheel and 700C rear wheel. It’s hard to see magnificient ORIA FSB (fillet silver brazed) tubing from the photos where main tube ending on one side is horizontal ellipse shape and the other side is vertical ellipse shape tube. The frame is definetly stiffer than other TT frames from this era and built with Campagnolo Record groupset, 4spoke carbon tubular front wheel, Ambrosio Record rear wheel, 3ttt Moscow handlebar, Iscaselle Targa saddle, in one word – Attractive.

Very rare and collectible! For true enthusiasts…
