Ernesto Colnago was born on February 9, 1932 in Cambiago, near Milan, Italy. At age 13 he entered in world of two wheels and immediately he fall in love with bikes and cycling. In 1952 he founded Colnago and started to work as mechanic for several professional teams. Colnago’s bikes still have a domination of the world’s cycling sports because Ernesto was always an innovator and pioneer of new technologies which supposedly provide more efficency or comfort.

In the early 1980’s Colnago collaborated with Columbus to develop a new oval shaped tube that was designed to decrease aerodynamic drag and enhance overall frame stiffness. Their new project was named – Colnago Oval CX. Whilst this frame incorporated futuristic aero design, the Colnago Oval CX bicycle was  made in only in available for a few years, making this model a collector’s item.

Aerodynamic oval shaped tubes and special lugs were created to streamline this frame, however this frame featured several other design changes in the pursuit of aero gains:

– shift levers mounted on top of the down tube.

– shift cables are routed inside the down tube.

– rear brake cable is routed inside top tube (Più style).

– CX fork has flat side profile to reduce frontal drag.

– Rear brake reverse mounted (inside the rear triangle).

Proudly presenting one of the most beautiful and exclusive bikes that ever left Colnago’s factory – Colnago Oval CX. Superb frameset is made of Aero Columbus SL tubing, marked with N2, completelly built with Campagnolo 50th Anniversary groupset (no.8276) with prototype Cobalto Campagnolo 50th levers, 3ttt Colnago stem and handlebar, San Marco Concor saddle with Ernesto Colnago signature.
