COLNAGO Master GEO, Campagnolo Chorus 9s, 55cm (late 1990s) – SOLD

Ernesto Colnago was born on February 9, 1932 in Cambiago, near Milan, Italy. At age 13 he entered in world of two wheels and immediately he fall in love with bikes and cycling. In 1952 he founded Colnago and started to work as mechanic for several professional teams. His first big success as a frame builder dates back in 1960 when Luigi  Arienti won gold medal at the Rome Olympic games. Colnago’s bikes still have a domination of the world’s cycling sports because Ernesto was always an innovator and pioneer of new technologies which supposedly provide more efficency or comfort.

In response to criticism that Colnago frames were not stiff enough, Ernesto experimented with various crimped-tube frames. In 1983 he introduced their top model ”Master” and the legend was born. The Master was constructed with famous ”star shaped’ top, seat and down tube profile tubing called Columbus Gilco S4 designed by Gilberto Colombo to improve performance. The first version of the Colnago Master was produced in years 1983-87, later Master Più was released. In 1993 Ernesto released the Master Olympic which has Precisa fork, chromed seat-stays and very successful racing bike in early 1990s. It was available in several beautiful paint schemes.

The GEO paint scheme is a true representation of how Colnago has touch all four corners of the world with their passion and dedication to cycling. Each Colnago GEO is not only special because of how amazing it looks and how exclusive they are, but because each frame is hand painted.

Here we are offering beautiful Colnago Master Geo neo/retro masterpiece. The frameset is basically a Master Olympic from mid 1990s, made of Columbus Gilco S4 star shapped steel tubing and shinning in amazing GEO paint job. Built with Campagnolo Chorus 9s groupset,  wheels, 3ttt COLNAGO stem, San Marco Concor saddle. No much words needed.
