In 1990s Cannondale achieved the distinction and goal of becoming the first high-volume producer of aluminum frames, at a time when only steel frames were mass-produced and aluminum was handmade in low volumes. Cannondale marketed subsequent frames with the CAAD designation (for “Cannondale Advanced Aluminum Design”) which first appeared in their mountain bike frame series.
Saeco was the name of very successful Italian road bicycle racing team, sponsored by the company with the same name. A stars like Mario Cipollini, Francesco Casagrande, Cadel Evans, Paolo Salvodelli rode on Cannondale CAAD bicycles in late 1990s and early 2000s.
Here we are proudly presenting Cannondale CAD3 Saeco Team “M.Cipollini” which dates back to 1997. Superb aluminium frame with Time carbon fork, build with Shimano Dura Ace 7700 groupset, famous Spinergy wheelset, Cinelli stem and handlebar, LOOK Saeco pedals, Selle Italia – M.Cipollini The Lion King personalised saddle. Very very close to Mario’s racing bike. Nice catch for collectors or just to enjoy fast ride.
