BIANCHI Ti-Mega, Gewiss Playbus 1996

Description

Bianchi is the world’s oldest bicycle-making company still in existence, founded in 1885 by Eduardo Bianchi in Milan, Italy. No doubt, Bianchi is the pioneer of bicycle development since the beginning. They invented equal-sized wheels with pneumatic rubber tires in 1895, first bicycle ever featuring a cardan joint transmission in 1901 and front brake system in 1913.

Bianchi’s Reparto Corse (Bianchi’s Race Department) facility hand built frames for their top riders and Team Gewiss was sponsored by Bianchi back in 1995-96 seasons. Team Gewiss Playbus was winning with Bianchi’s top-end model, the ” Ti-Mega ” which is made of lightweight 3AL-2.5V titanium tubeset. The titanium was the most exclusive material back then, even some riders already rode full carbon bikes.

Team Gewiss Playbus  was one of the best team back in 1996. Their riders won biggest races like Milano-San Remo (G.Colombo), Amstel Gold Race (S.Zannini), Paris-Tours (N.Minali),  stages at the Giro and Tour (E.Berzin) on Bianchi Ti-Mega bikes.

Team Gewiss Playbus 1996

Proudly presenting another extraordinary racing machine from mid 1990s – Bianchi Ti-Megatube, Team Gewiss Playbus 1996. Superb frame is made of superlight titanium 3AL-2,5V tubeset. Only best of the best parts are good enough for such an amazing frameset: Campagnolo Record Titanium 8s groupset, Shamal 12HPW Titanium wheels, PMP titanium seatpost, new old stock Flite Titanium saddle, ITM cockpit, Time pedals. A bike with a soul that brings back mid 1990s memories.

Love at first sight. Nice catch for any Bianchi collector.
