BIANCHI Genius Reparto Corse – authentic bike of B.CENGHIALTA (Team Gewiss 1996)

Bianchi is the world’s oldest bicycle-making company still in existence, founded in 1885 by Eduardo Bianchi in Milan, Italy. No doubt, Bianchi is the pioneer of bicycle development since the beginning. They invented equal-sized wheels with pneumatic rubber tires in 1895, first bicycle ever featuring a cardan joint transmission in 1901 and front brake system in 1913.

Bianchi’s Reparto Corse (Bianchi’s Race Department) facility hand built frames for their top riders and their sponsored teams back in 1980s and 1990s. In years 1992-93 they sponsored Italian GB-MG Team, with some very strong riders such as Fabio Baldato, Andrej Tchmil, Ballerini, Franco Chioccioli, Dag-Erik Pedersen, the young sprinter Mario Cipollini and neo-prof Davide Rebellin. In 1996 they sponsored Team Gewiss Playbus with several strong riders on board: E.Berzin, I.Gotti, S.Zanini, B.Cenghialta… They were winning races around the globe on BIANCHI Mega-Ti and BIANCHI Genius Reparto Corse bikes, and of them is presented here…

Proudly offering another superb Italian steel racing machine – 1996 Bianchi Genius made by Bianchi’s Reparto Corse for Bruno Cenghialta of Team Gewiss Playbus. The frame was made of very special and super light Columbus Genius tubing. Extra thin tubes are TIG welded, there is no lugs and the result is one of the lightest steel frames. It’s shinning in original celeste paint job, marked with “3” under the bb, build with Campagnolo Record Titanium 8s groupset, Campagnolo Omega wheels, Selle Italia Turbo saddle, ITM stem and handlebar. Ready for serious riding.
