PINARELLO Special, Columbus SL frameset 51cm (early 1980s) – SOLD


Giovanni Pinarello was born in Catena di Villorba, Italy in 1922. He was the eighth of 12 brothers. At the age of fifteen, Giovanni began making bicycles at the factory of Paglianti. After a successful amateur career he turned professional in 1947. After his carrer, in 1952 he founded Cicli Pinarello S.p.A. in Treviso, Italy.

The Pinarello Super Record Special is for sure one of the best racing machine which ever left Giovanni Pinarello’s factory in Treviso, Italy. The  ”Special” was their top model from mid 1970s till early 1980s  (when the Treviso was launched) and basically the  frame with which Pinarello started to dominate on cycling races around the globe.

Happy to present another iconic steel frameset – Pinarello Special. which dates back to early 1980s. Superb frameset is made of lightweight Columbus SL tubes and Campagnolo drop-outs with easily recognisable by ”GP” (Giovanni Pinarello) engravings. Great catch for all Pinarello lovers any vintage bike collector.
